SEMINAR ON PROMOTING THAILAND INVESTMENT IN GIA LAI IN 2025

In the morning of October 24th 2025, Gia Lai People's Committee organized the Seminar on Promoting Thai Investment in Gia Lai Province in 2025 under the chairmanship of Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang – Member of Gia Lai Party Committee Standing Committee, Deputy Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee and Director of Gia Lai Economic Zone Authority (GEZA). The attendants were included Mr. Truong Minh - Deputy Director of the Foreign Investment Department of the Ministry of Finance; Mr. Tran Minh Son - Member of Gia Lai Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Gia Lai’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, leaders of provincial relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities and GEZA. On the Thai side, the Seminar attendants were included Mr. Chartchai Panichewa – Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI); Mr. Pongthira Pathanapiradej – FTI Executive Board, and Vice Chairman of Trade and Investment Affairs; Mr. Tharabodee Serng-Adichaiwit – General Manager of Bangkok Bank Vietnam and many Thai enterprises. The workshop was accompanied by Becamex IDC Group, Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company and FTI.
Speaking at the opening of the Seminar, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang – Member of Gia Lai Party Committee Standing Committee, Deputy Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee and Director of GEZA emphasized the potential and advantages of Gia Lai. Located in a strategic position in the center of the East-West and North-South axes, Gia Lai is a bridge between Vietnam Central Coast - Central Highlands and Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and the Mekong Region. With a diverse ecosystem, more than 130 kilometers of coastline, 80 kilometers of land border and potential for high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, industry, services and logistics and tourism, Gia Lai as a miniature Vietnam, is a foundation for comprehensive development, towards a modern, dynamic and sustainable province. Mr. Deputy Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee also shared about the development goals and vision of Gia Lai and the necessary conditions that the province has proactively prepared to welcome investors to the province, including Thai investors. Gia Lai Province has Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone with total area of 41,515 hectares and Nhon Hoi Economic Zone with total area of 14,308 hectares, where Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Township and Industrial Parks with large area is waiting for all FDI investors, including Thai investors.
Gia Lai is particularly keen to attract investment from Thai enterprises in areas with their strengths such as cross-border logistics, supporting industries, agricultural processing for export, industrial services associated with industrial parks (IPs) and supply chains… In the provincial investment attraction strategy, Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh IP is identified as an important core, playing the role of a gateway to receive high-quality FDI capital flows, including Thai enterprises. Especially, Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Township and Industrial Parks are located on the direct connection corridor between Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone and Quy Nhon International Seaport. And also, Gia Lai is promoting the development of Phu My deep-water seaport, which will create a strategic transit route for goods serving Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia - Thailand trade. This is a golden opportunity for Thai enterprises to invest and cooperate in building a production, processing, transit and distribution center for goods serving the entire Mekong Region. This Seminar is not only a simple investment promotion activity, but also a strategic connection forum where Thai investors and Gia Lai's economic ecosystem can share visions and build value chain linkage projects towards sustainable development and common prosperity.
Speaking at the Seminar, Mr. Chartchai Panichewa – Vice Chairman in charge of trade and investment of FTI was very enthusiastic about the Seminar theme: Discovering Gia Lai Vietnam - Trade and Investment Breakthrough, where state management agencies, the business community, investors and partners with the same vision, promoting cooperation and sustainable economic development are gathered together. He let us know that coming to this Seminar, there were about 20 business leaders from 12 industrial sectors including auto parts, fertilizers, agriculture, aviation, chemicals, food, furniture, glass, logistics, machinery and tools, printing, packaging, industrial safety equipment and related service sectors.
Thailand and Vietnam have complementary strengths. Thailand has advantages in agriculture, automobiles, electronics and services, while Vietnam is developing strongly in industry. This combination has opened up opportunities for cooperation, joint ventures, technology transfer and supply chain linkage between the two nations. Mr. Chartchai Panichewa strongly believes that today's event will be an important milestone in strengthening the bilateral cooperation relationship between Thailand and Vietnam, opening up many new investment opportunities, meaningful partnerships and a common vision for sustainable growth in the region. Currently, in the Gia Lai provincial Economic Zone - Industrial Park, there are only 04 projects of Thai investors being implemented in the fields of industrial production, animal feed and livestock and poultry slaughter with a total registered investment capital of more than USD 56 million on a total area of 29 hectares. Thai investors have strengths in the fields of retail, household appliances production, and handicrafts. In addition, Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh IP has a large area available, ensuring successful attraction of projects from Thai investors.
At the Seminar, Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company introduced Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Township and Industrial Parks. The project has completed site clearance within less than 02 years of implementation and is one of the projects with the fastest time to grant land use right certificates in Gia Lai Province. Because of that, up till now, the project has successfully attracted 09 investors with 11 projects from developed countries such as Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Singapore, Korea, China… on a total area of over 100 hectares and a total investment capital of over USD 284 million. The workshop spent a lot of time exchanging information between Thai enterprises with Gia Lai Leaders and provincial departments, expressing their interest in Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Township and Industrial Parks. Thai enterprises also learned more about the conditions related to production and business activities as well as preferential policies, investment attraction, tax policies, clean energy development policies, human resource training, especially the future orientation of the Province on investment in logistics infrastructure systems such as highways, railways, airways, seaways to support enterprises in regional and international connectivity to create competitive advantages with other provinces in the region.
With the speech at the Seminar, Mr. Truong Minh - Deputy Director of the Foreign Investment Department of the Ministry of Finance highly appreciated the potential and advantages of Gia Lai and its efforts in investment promotion. At also the same time, the Foreign Investment Department committed to continue to accompany Gia Lai province and its enterprises, to promote institutional reform, to improve the investment environment and to create the most favorable conditions for domestic and foreign investors, including Thai investors investing in Gia Lai.
On the occasion of the Seminar, Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company held the Groundbreaking Ceremony for construction items in Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Township and Industrial Parks, including Becamex VSIP Ready-Built Factory Project with an area of 4.2 hectares and total investment of more than VNĐ 274 billion; Worker Housing Project in Township area with an area of 1.3 hectares and total investment of more than VNĐ 230 billion; Green Park and Ecological Lake Project with an area of more than 8.5 hectares and total investment of more than VNĐ 17 billion; Water Pumping Station Number 2 Project built on a total area of nearly 2.7 hectares with a total investment of VNĐ 142 billion.
Within the framework of the Seminar, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Becamex Group and FTI; and the MoU signing ceremony between Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh and the Thai Business Association in Vietnam and CTR Becamex Joint Stock Company took place. On this occasion, through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai Province, Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company donated VNĐ 500 million to support the Northern Vietnam people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods, demonstrating the social responsibility of the enterprise to the community.
