In the afternoon of October 09th 2025, Gia Lai People's Committee held a working session on investment activities in provincial industrial parks and clusters (IPCs) under the chairmanship of Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Gia Lai Party Committee and Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang - Deputy Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee and Director of Gia Lai Economic Zone Authority (GEZA). According to Provincial Master Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, aiming to 2050, Gia Lai will have 22 IPs with a total area of about 9,450 hectares. Currently, there are 11 IPs, of which 03 are in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone (NEZ): Nhon Hoi IP (Park A), Nhon Hoi IP (Park B) and Becamex IP; 08 IPs outside NEZ, including Phu Tai IP, Long My IP, Nhon Hoa IP, Hoa Hoi IP, Phu My IP – Phase 1, Binh Nghi IP, Tra Da IP and Nam Pleiku IP (03 IPs are implementing investment preparation procedures and implementing infrastructure investment, including Phu My IP – Phase 1, Binh Nghi IP and Nam Pleiku IP). In 2025, the Gia Lai aims to attract 45 projects. Up till now, The Provincial IPs have attracted 19/45 projects, reaching 42% of the plan, with a total registered investment capital of VND 28,048/22,500 billion (133% of the target). Phu Tai IP and Long My IP are now in operation with 100% leased area ration. Among the attracted projects, there are 05 FDI projects with a total capital of about USD 1.07 billion.
Beside the positive results achieved, investment activities in The Provincial IPCs still face to some difficulties, such as problems in converting rice fields, forest lands and reforestation, etc., causing slow progress in technical infrastructure construction, and slow compensation and site clearance in some places are still also affecting investment attraction and business production of enterprises. At the Working Session, IPCs’ investors recommended that Gia Lai should continuously pay close attention to and support them in promoting investment and organizing investment promotion conferences in foreign markets in order to expand cooperation opportunities; And also, some obstacles related to land mines, fire prevention and fighting and construction licensing to facilitate the implementation of the Project were also considered to the Provincial leader’s attention.
Speaking at the working session, Mr. Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that The Province is making efforts to remove difficulties and obstacles in the operation of IPCs in order to create a favorable investment environment and sustainable development. In the long term, Gia Lai aims to invest in building ecological, green and smart IPCs, thereby attracting quality investment projects. To gradually realize this purpose, Mr. Chairman reminded infrastructure investors of IPCs of 3 related issues, including infrastructure, occupancy rate and quality of attracted projects. If investors ensure these 3 above criteria: Good infrastructure, well-invested; attracting investment with good occupancy rate and good quality of attraction, then infrastructure investors of IPCs can easily assured that Gia Lai will be ready to support the best conditions for IPCs to well operate in the Province.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan also requested GEZA, Department of Industry and Trade and other related provincial department to urgently complete procedures for selecting investors for new IPCs in accordance with regulations, while focusing on directing the work of site clearance, creating conditions for investors to soon deploy infrastructure construction, ensuring progress, especially for IPCs that already have secondary investors. From now, every month, Gia Lai provincial related department must have a report on the implementation of infrastructure investment, occupancy rate and quality of attracted projects, clearly showing the problems, solutions to handle the problems and proposing solutions for stiff problems. Gia Lai Provincial departments, branches and localities must accompany investors and secondary investors to work with them. GEZA and provincial departments, branches, localities and relevant agencies are also requested to continue to create the most favorable conditions for businesses and investors, focusing on fire prevention and fighting, promoting administrative reform, shortening the time to handle procedures, aiming for a breakthrough in administrative procedure reform.
To the investors, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Gia Lai Party Committee and Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee emphasized the need to ensure financial capacity, occupancy rate capacity and quality of secondary projects. The Province will prioritize selecting investors with potential, reputation and long-term commitment. The difficulties and obstacles from investors will be considered and resolved by The Provincial Leaders, in order to execute the project in the right time of schedule. On the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day October 13th, Mr. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee sent his best wishes and hoped that investors and enterprises will continue to effectively implement the assigned goals and targets and will contribute to promoting Gia Lai Provincial socio-economic development in a sustainable direction.
