In the afternoon of September 12th 2026, in Quy Nhon Dong Ward, Gia Lai People's Committee organized an investment promotion seminar for Gia Lai Province in collaboration with the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Vietnam. At the seminar, Gia Lai Province showed its potential, advantages, development orientation and priority sectors for investment attraction. The Province is focusing on upgrading industrial park (IP) infrastructure, securing ready-to-use land banks and fostering a favorable investment environment to attract both domestic and foreign investors. Under The Provincial development plan for IPs and economic zones (EZs), Gia Lai aims to have 31 IPs covering a total area of 10,535.48 hectares by 2030. Currently, 08 IPs are operational, 06 IPs are under construction and 05 IPs are completed planning and ready for investment. However, the results of attracting Taiwanese investment to the Gia Lai Province and Gia Lai Provincial EZs and IPs have fallen short of expectations. Up till now, there is only 01 project by a Taiwanese investor operating effectively in Nhon Hoa IP with 5.36 hectares in area and USD 09 million in total investment.
Representatives from The Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Vietnam have noted that Gia Lai possesses significant advantages regarding its geographical location, natural resources and increasingly developed infrastructure, while also offering strong appeal in sectors such as agricultural processing, renewable energy, tourism and industrial development. Taiwanese enterprises hold strengths in fields of mechanical engineering, industrial processing and manufacturing; textiles, footwear, and electronics; infrastructure construction; agriculture; and finance and banking… Currently, the Provincial EZs and IPs feature largely completed infrastructure and ample available land to meet the needs of Taiwanese investors; therefore, it is essential to introduce these opportunities to Taiwanese Partner Side to facilitate and attract investment. The seminar is expected to expand connection channels, enabling Taiwanese businesses to gain direct access to information regarding policies, advantages and investment opportunities in Gia Lai.
With the speech at The Seminar, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh – Permanent Deputy Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee affirmed the provincial commitment to continuously improving the investment environment and proactively providing information, guidance and support to enterprises as they research and implement projects in accordance with regulations. Gia Lai encourages Taiwanese enterprises and investors to continue exploring suitable locations and sectors and to gradually translate the connections established at The Seminar into practical, effective cooperation programs and investment projects. Through this event, Gia Lai reaffirms its proactive approach to fostering connections and creating a favorable investment climate, aiming to strengthen cooperation with the Taiwanese business community and thereby drive local socio-economic development.
