WORKING WITH KOVECA: 02 KOREAN BIG PROJECTS FOR GIA LAI

In the morning of September 26th 2025, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee had a working session with Mr. Kwon Sung Taek, Chairman of Korea - Vietnam Economic and Cultural Association (KOVECA) and Korean investors who came to explore investment opportunities in Gia Lai Province. Also attending the meeting were Mr. Kim Il Wan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kim Khang Investment and Development Group, Mr. Kim Hyeong Seok - Representative Director of CG&VN ENT Company, Leaders of Kosy Group Company and JV Link Global Company. Gia Lai attendants were included Leaders of Provincial departments, including the Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Gia Lai Economic Zone Authority (GEZA) and Phu My Investment Group Joint Stock Company – Phu My IP main investor

At the meeting, KOVECA and Korean investors highly appreciated Gia Lai's potential in implementing large-scale projects, especially clean energy projects. Also, with the roadway, railway and deep-water seaport systems... all are the conditions for investors to be determined to implement projects in Gia Lai Province. In details, Korean investors expressed their goodwill to invest 02 big projects in the province, including a Hydrogen Power Plant Project and an Energy Project. Each project had a total registered investment capital from USD 500 million to USD 02 billion. Firstly, the Investor hoped that Provincial Authority would introduce an area of 10 hectares to implement the Projects and would closely coordinate to develop the project implementation plan.

Also at the meeting, Mr. Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee affirmed that after the merging the two provinces, Gia Lai now has an area of over 21,500 km2, a population of over 3.5 million people, more than 130 kilometers of coastline and 80 kilometers of land border. Gia Lai Province has Nhon Hoi Economic Zone with total area of 14,308 hectares and Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone with total area of 41,515 hectares. Furthermore, in Gia Lai Province, there are currently 09 Industrial Parks (IPs), with a total area of over 3,100 hectares with technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, wastewater treatment systems... all invested and built synchronously, ensuring conditions to attract investment projects. Especially, Phu My IP with total 820.93 hectares in area will be suitable location for all energy projects of all kinds. In developing orientation for the period 2026 - 2030, the Province focuses on developing on 05 pillars: Processing - manufacturing industry, Renewable energy, High-tech agriculture, Seaport - logistics services and Modern City areas. Mr. Chairman also affirmed that Gia Lai is committed to creating a safe, attractive, transparent investment environment, accompanying businesses. Along with that, the Province has issued many preferential mechanisms on land, tax, credit, promoted administrative reform and developed high-quality human resources, especially in the fields of energy, high technology, artificial intelligence and semiconductors. Regarding the opinions from Korean investors at this meeting, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee requested relevant provincial departments, branches and IP infrastructure company to urgently arrange land area in accordance with investors' requirements; and he also requested functional departments to prepare infrastructure and be ready to accompany investors. Mr. Chairman hopes that KOVECA will continue to promote its role as a bridge linking more Korean investors to Gia Lai Province. The Province is committed to always accompanying and providing maximum support for the projects to soon come into operation.
