I. Overview of Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone
Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone (Road 19) Gia Lai Province was established under the Decision No. 139/2001 / QD-TTg dated September 21, 2001 of the Prime Minister, including communes: Ia Kla, Ia Pnôn, Ia Nan, Ia Dom and Chu Ty Town, with a total natural area of 41,860 ha, a population of about 27,700 people, accounting for 58.3% of the area, 50% of the population of Duc Co District. Le Thanh Border Gate was upgraded from the National Border Gate to the International Border Gate in accordance with the Decision 306 / QD-TTg dated 13/3/2007 of the Prime Minister.
A border area with low economic starting point, inadequate and inconsistent infrastructure. But thanks to the attention of the Government, the close and timely guidance of the Provincial People's Committee, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the authorities at all levels, the active coordination of the sectors, should invest in the Border Gate Economic Zone initially. have brought positive effects. The security situation in the economic zone has been strengthened and maintained. Import-export turnover and the number of arrivals and exit and entry next year is higher than the previous year; border trade activities gradually formed and went into order; infrastructure systems such as transportation, electricity, water, border gate markets and parking lots have been invested in construction, contributing to complete the infrastructure system at the border gate.
With an important geopolitical position in the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia development triangle, 72 km from Pleiku city, 23 km from Duc Co district, 30 km from Ojadao district and Bun Lung city - Ratanakiri province (Kingdom of Cambodia) ) 75 km, Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone is particularly interested by the governments of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. The development of this area has a great impact on the development process of Gia Lai province in terms of economy, society, environment and national defense and security, and contributes to support the development of Northeastern Cambodia and southern Lao provinces. The region has a lot of potential for developing agricultural commodities, importing and exporting agricultural products, developing processing industries, trading and economic services. II. Overview of Tra Da Industrial Park
Tra Da industrial zone, phase 1 (with an area of 109 ha), has been approved by the Chairman of Gia Lai province's People's Committee of a feasible project of infrastructure construction under Decision No. 1493 / QD-CT of December 25 / 2003. Through many investment stages, at present, infrastructure of Tra Da Industrial Park has been built quite synchronously; including: roads, sidewalks, trees, lighting systems, sewage treatment plants ... basically meet the business and production activities of investors and have been filled 100 % acreage.
The expanded Tra Da industrial park (with an area of 104 hectares) has been approved by the People's Committee of Gia Lai province in Decision No. 616 / QD-UBND dated September 16, 2011; is in the stage of infrastructure investment with central budget capital and other capital sources, expected to be completed by the end of 2016, so far there are 6 investment projects and ready to welcome new investors.
